Our agate burnishers are high-quality semi-precious stones made from silica-based materials and are supplied exclusively in a high-gloss premium finish – for good reason: perfect gilding results require a flawless, perfectly smooth and polished surface. Our agates meet this uncompromising quality standard without exception.

For gilding applications, dense and uniformly structured agates are used, mounted in durable metal ferrules. Our burnishing stones are suitable for all leaf metals used in water gilding (poliment technique) and ensure professional results.

Such a high-gloss finish is achieved through a complex and precise polishing process requiring maximum care and expertise. This is the only way to guarantee the quality expected by professional users.

Your advantage with high-gloss agate burnishers

Your advantage: Based on this perfect surface, the gilder can mattify the agate individually according to their needs. Before polishing, the surface is prepared accordingly by drawing it off, i.e. mattifying it.

If you purchase a pre-mattified agate burnisher, you cannot know the level of quality it was manufactured to – or whether the most important and demanding step, high-gloss polishing, was even carried out.

As agate burnishers are very sensitive, it is recommended to store them in a suitable protective case to prevent scratches or damage.

For reasons of conviction and high quality standards, we do not offer mattified agate burnishers.
