Genuine Gold Leaf "Double Deep Gold dark shade" in type patent/transfer. Suitable exclusively for the interior field. Protective coating not respectively conditionally necessary. The Gerstendörfer Gold Leaf Factory guarantees German Quality and for this product 22 carat.

The Gold Leaf type is mechanical pressed onto a tissue paper and contains 25 leaves in each booklet. The tissue paper can be easily handled and can also cut with a scissor in desired dimensions. The leaf will placed onto the prepared surface and gently rubbed with fingers, cotton wool or cloth. After that, the tissue paper can be removed like a transfer picture. Gold Leaf patent/transfer can only be processed in the oil gilding technique.

Shellac ruby free of resin and wax

Shellac is a resinous substance that is secreted by an insect – the enamel shield louse. It accumulates on the branches of trees. Found mainly in south and south east Asia, particularly in India and Thailand, shellac was manufactured formerly in large quantities. The annual output amounted to about 50,000 tons. In order to harvest a kilogram of shellac, one needs about 300,000 enamel shield lice. For the gilder, shellac is mainly used as a protective coating. The use of shellac is restricted to the painting technique. Shellac is only usable for inside. 1 part by weight Shellac to 4 or 5 parts of weight Alcohol Combine the ingredients in a container with a tightly fitting lid. Soak the shellac flakes in about half of the total alcohol to be used for 24 hours or longer. Stir occasionally and when dissolved add the balance of the alcohol. After the shellac is fully dissolved, it should be strained through a fine mesh cloth to remove impurities. Store in a cool and dark place.

Instacoll is a size for the attainment of high gloss weather-resistant exterior and interior gilding. It is a system consisting of Instacoll Base and Instacoll Activator.Instacoll Base can be applied with a soft brush or spraying machine. After drying (approximate up to 1 hour), the surface is ready to gild for approx. 1 hour. If gilding takes a longer time or gilding can be completed at a future date, the surface respectively applied Base can be simply reactivate with the component Activator.
