Product information "Imitation Silver Leaf"

Imitation Silver Leaf in books is a pure beaten aluminium. Visually, aluminum leaf differs little from real silver leaf and is therefore often used as its cheaper replacement. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and does not have to be coated with protective paint.

Available in two high quality grades for different applications:

Standard - gilding of figures, picture frames, decorative objects, borders, stenciling, furniture, wall gilding, ceiling gilding, floristry decoration ...

Premium - poliment gilding with metal leaf, reverse glass gilding, surface gilding.

Imitation Silver Leaf is mostly used with the Kölner Permacoll HA black or clear size. Other suitable adhesives are: quick mixtion, Kölner Aqua Size and oil mixtion where the water-gilding technique is also possible.

Mostly used in the frame-industry and modern decorations on walls, column etc ... 

Kölner Leaf Protect is recommended as a protective varnish. Kölner Permacoll patina is used as the last step for artificial aging.

  High-quality protective varnish especially for gold leaf and metal leaf. The metallic shine of the leaf metal is retained.Kölner Leaf Protect is based on water, therefore, it is not recommended to process this varnish with all imitation metal leaves in type patent and silver leaf patent. These products can leave wax residues, which cannot absorbed by a water based varnish. Available packaging unit: 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, 1.000 ml, 4.000 ml
