Our courses open up and deepen your knowledge of the technique of gilding and provide a variety of impulses for further application. The instructor Dietmar E. Feldmann, a master gilder with over 30 years of experience, will give you a glimpse into his bag of tricks. 

 

Modern gold leaf gilding 14.03.2025

In this course you will learn how to gild with real gold leaf and metal leaf using our modern adhesives, Kölner Instacoll System and Cologne Permacoll, and how to combine them. This course is aimed at beginners as well as experienced gilders who would like to deepen their knowledge and learn new techniques.

Design & preservation 15.03.2025

Our “Design & Preservation” course focuses on new design possibilities with new products from the Kölner gilding product range. We will teach everything from high-gloss to matt gilding, from relief to smooth surfaces and their combination. 

 

In addition, Dietmar Feldmann, who has been a master gilder for many years, will demonstrate new ways of using Kölner products such as KGGG Fond, Revisol, Miniatum Gel and other new products in restoration. The focus will be on the principles of reversibility, which are of central importance in the preservation of historical monuments. This will give you the opportunity to restore poliment gilding yourself in a modern and monument-appropriate way.
