Preparation of the surface for gilding oil on a varnished surface

The quality of oil gilding is increased enormously. The problems of oil mixing are minimized.

Kölner Feldmann's Prep is tailored to Kölner oil mixtion. But also improves the processing of the Lefranc oil mixtion.

Works on all dried paint reasons. Apply Kölner prep with cotton wool or a brush. Allow to dry for 1-2 minutes and polish off with clean cotton wool. Should the surface loosen somewhat (e.g. with a yellow high-gloss lacquer - yellow discolouration in the cotton wool), this is neither a defect nor an impairment. After thorough polishing, the oil mixture is quickly applied with a bristle brush. Immediately pull off with a lint-free cloth until almost no oil mixture can be seen. After the oil mixtion has dried, the gold leaf can be applied in bulk or transfer. Test trials are necessary.
