Product information "Potassium sulfide"

 

Potassium sulfide also referred to as sublimed sulfur, are water-soluble potassium salts. Potassium sulfide is available in brownish nuggets. It is used for discolouration of Metal leaves, especially to oxidate Silver Leaf to achieve an antique patina.
Mixture ratio approx. 5 – 10 gram of potassium sulfide to 0.5 liter warm distilled water. Apply the dilution on the silvering (by adding of ammonia the oxidation will intensified), after desired effect, the workpiece has to be cleaned and varnished.
